This is the home of all the bits and pieces I can't otherwise find a logical home for; hints, tips and, maybe, whinges that someone out there may find useful.
I originally resisted the temptation to do a "me and ME" piece, mainly because I didn't think it would be particularly interesting. A bit of background follows, but the full version is here. I went down with ME in the autumn of 1985, after which - and I'm sure many of you have had similar experiences - I met with an almost blanket denial by my doctors that I was actually sick. That went on for 10 years until, in the autumn of 1995, almost 10 years to the day, I finally got a diagnosis of ME. Then, to add insult to injury, the ME clinic was closed down to save money. So I'd just like to say this to the my various GPs, and consultants - for 10 years of disbelief, indifference and downright hostility that cost me my health, my marriage and, ultimately, for a while, my sanity - well done, that takes real talent. Other than that, don't get me started or I'll never shut up!
